The Pirates Grab $1 Billion

BBC News: Pirates is third film to top $1bn---

The Pirates Of The Caribbean sequel has become only the third film to make over $1bn (£536m) at the global box office.

Dead Man's Chest, which stars Johnny Depp, had sold $1.003bn-worth of tickets as of Friday, said its distributors Walt Disney.

This makes it the third highest grossing film of all time, behind Titanic and The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King.

A third film, At World's End, is set to be released next May.
Oops, the BBC has a punctuation error in that last sentence. The 3rd Pirates movie will be called "At Worlds End." More on that here.
