"The most perfect refreshment"

Early Bird has this quote up on her blog, but since I am re-reading Mansfield Park and came across it again, I just have to post it!

"I shall soon be rested," said Fanny; "to sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure, is the most perfect refreshment."

  • Jane Austen
    Mansfield Park
    Chapter IX, pg. 77
  • And I thought I would post this picture that my pen-pal in England (he's American) "Gentleman Jay" sent, which he took in
    Alresford. Beautiful, isn't it?

I want to sit and gaze upon it. This week is supposed to be hot (but not as hot as Iraq---so say a prayer for our soldiers!).

It is perfect! And I was very pleasantly surprised when I came across it in Mansfield Park. I had forgot it was in that book! Isn't the picture lovely?

    Thanks for visiting!
